Being the Secretary-General of the first-ever Landau International Model United Nations-IMUN-I had the privilege of organizing one of the biggest and most influential Model United Nations conferences that took place in Baku. The road to making this dream come true was tiring and exhausting; nevertheless, it was well worth the effort as I am proud of the outstanding result we have managed to deliver.

From the very outset, I tried to apply good marketing and recruitment strategies in order to increase the number of registrations. All went so well that not only the number of participants but also the overall revenue reached a stunning 17,000 AZN. This financial success allowed us to host a 250-person conference and take care of all the logistical needs to make everything run smoothly for everyone concerned.

Another important aspect of the event was the leading of a team of over 50 committed staff. I worked with each of them individually to ensure that everything, from the registration process to the final closing ceremony, went smoothly and without glitches. We were able to provide an environment where meaningful discussions, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among participants could take place.

One of the most thrilling aspects of the preparation phase was arranging a training session for the participants. I got the time to brief them regarding the specific format of this conference, making sure they are well prepared to enter into debates, draft resolutions, and represent their allocated countries effectively. This particular session helped not only for the success of the whole event but also for imparting important skills to all the participants, which could be carried forward in every other Model UN event to which they may be connected.

The first Landau IMUN, in retrospect, has been a defining moment for me as a leader and an advocate for global diplomacy and youth empowerment. The positive feedback we received from delegates, faculty members, and staff affirmed the hard work that went into every stage of the conference. It was indeed one of those moments, and I look forward to continuing fostering such opportunities for young leaders in the future.
